You Know....The Other One

We know, the twins are here and we have been neglecting Hyrum. We took some other pics and thought we would share. By the way, Hyrum is loving Ben. At first, we were a little scared when we were holding him in the hospital and Hyrum just was so upset everytime Ben was in our arms. But at home, he would come up to Ben and rub his head real gentle and say "soft, soft". He is a great kid and we love him. The pictures are of him playing and also his new position in the van. Sad, huh.

Welcome Home Ben

Today is a special day. Ben has graduated from the NICU and is home with us now. Emily is expected to join him tommorrow morning or afternoon. We are so excited and just love to hold this kid without all of the chords protruding from every part of his body. Just so you know, he eats like Hyrum did when he was that young. For those of you who didn't see that, this means he eats like a horse. Another thing he enjoys is seeing Mom and Dad hit by a long yellow stream. This kid has good aim, BEWARE!!! Anyways, enjoy the pics and we will update you on Emily when she gets home.

Happy Birthday Hyrum

The 10th of November was Hyrum's birthday, and what a day. Mom was sick with a 104 fever, the babies were getting close to coming home, and poor little Hyrum had both croup and strep. Dad was healthy but had four to tend for.

But, despite all of this, he had a blast. This was the first time he could really dive into that wrapping paper, which he did. He got some cars, tractors, an magna-doodle, and some animals. Typical boy. But his favorite were the candles on his cake. I stood just behind him to help him blow them out, but just after the song and just before I could blow, he easily and with one fell swoop took care of them all. What a set of lungs. It was funny to hear him sing in similar words and phrases the Happy Birthday song. Then came a little whisper, "again" and we commenced to light and blow the candles out a few more times. Then, one of our favorite things to do with him is his "H-Y-R-U-M" cheer. Some one starts, "give me an H" and he says H, etc. He says most of the letters but seems to get distracted by the whole crowd cheering for him. So spoiled. We love you Hyrum and wish you another happy year.

A Little Humor

This sounds like something Hyrum would do if he could talk this well.

A boss wondered why one of his most valued employees had not phoned in
sick one day. Having an urgent problem with one of the main computers, he
dialed the employee's home phone number and was greeted with a child's whisper.
"Hello."
"Is your daddy home?" he asked. "Yes," whispered the small voice.
"May I talk with him?" The child whispered, "No."
Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, "Is your
Mommy there?"
"Yes."
"May I talk with her?"
Again the small voice whispered, "No."
Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the boss
asked, "Is anybody else there?"
"Yes," whispered the child, "a policeman".
Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss
asked,"May I speak with the policeman?"
"No, he's busy", whispered the child.
"Busy doing what?"
"Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the Fireman," came the whispered answer.
Growing more worried as he heard what sounded like a helicopter through
the ear piece on the phone, the boss asked, "What is that noise?"
"A helicopter" answered the whispering voice.
"What is going on there?" demanded the boss, now truly apprehensive.
Again, whispering, the child answered, "The search team just landed the
Helicopter."
Alarmed, concerned and a little frustrated the boss asked, "What are
they searching for?"
Still whispering, the young voice replied with a muffled giggle:

"ME."
