Excuse the pictures in this post. It was at the end of the day when bows were taken out. Any attempt to comb the boys' hair had already gone to the wayside, but I still think the pictures were cute and wanted to share.
The time has come to get Ben and Emmy some new beds. The cribs just were not working anymore with Ben climbing out all the time.
We found a steal of a deal on Craigslist for a bedroom set with a bunk bed. The deal included an armoir, dresser, nightstand, and a bunk bed that has a twin over a full. It was too good to pass up. However, that meant that we had to put away the beloved firetruck bed. That process brought tears to my eyes. How the kids have loved that bed!Ben and Hyrum were so excited to share a room together. Since we got the bunk bed first, Emmy would sneak into the boys room when it was time for bed and lay in the far corner of the bottome bunk hoping we wouldn't notice her little petite frame trying to hide and stay in with the boys.We have a had a few problems keeping the conversations to a minimal with the boys when it is bedtime. They are just so excited to be together. They would giggle and laugh for hours if we let them. Yes, Ben is holding a picture of Jesus Christ and Hyrum is holding a Motorcycle. How I love my boys!
Shortly after we bought the bunk our friends traded us a twin bedframe and a footboard and a headboard because they heard we were looking for a bed for Emmy. Emmy loves her bedding because it has her favorite color pink! The first night Emmy slept in her bed she was so excited and full of giggles. She fell asleep with a smile on her face. Emmy has loved her bed. Doesn't she look so little in it?
This past week was Brandon's Spring Break and we moved all of Ben's things into Hyrum's room and moved all of the toys into Emmy's room.
We still have a problem with bed time; they love to play. Ben and Emmy also love to yell at each other from their doors and slam their door shut. We are working on this problem daily.
The kids have loved their freedom being in big boy and big girl beds. They always wake-up so happy and giddy with huge smiles on their face. They come running to me and give me big loves when they wake-up. They are too cute! One of my favorite times of the day (if it isn't too early).
This step of changing the beds has been difficult for me. Changing their beds to me means that they are growing up. I have a hard time with that. Ben and Emily started out sharing a bed, then sharing a room and now they aren't even in the same room anymore. I think Emmy misses the closeness a little and that is why she tries to sneak in even still to enjoy Ben's presence. At least Ben knows that he is loved!

I can't believe how big they're getting! And so cute/handsome. :) I love the bedding- my girls LOVE pink. I like the fact it isn't all pink. Where did you find it?
ohhh they are growing up so fast! Poor Emmy has to be in the other room without her buddy Ben.
Moving them into big beds is always hard, but I couldn't imagine having to split up twins!
what sweet kids--i love the smile on emily's face with her new bed and that picture of the twins as babies. how loving your family is. also, gotta love the bed head! keep those pictures coming! =)
Love her bedspread!! So cute!! And I LOVE craigslist deals. They are the BEST.
how fun!! Being a twin myself I am sure that she misses being with the boys a little. I always when and slept in my sister's room-even in high school:)Such cute bedding!
Oh those are such fun pictures. I love them it is such a bitter sweet process isn't it. I love that Emmy goes into the boys room.
Great pictures! The new beds are so fun!
Its always a shock when they make the switch to the 'big' bed! Tuck has been in a big boy bed for a while and I still think he looks so little in that big bed!
Cute bedding!! Good thing you knew what you wanted!
Her bedding I got on sale at Target.
