Nap time yesterday was a disaster. I put the kids down for their nap and thought that it was a good time to make some phone calls that I needed to make. After a few minutes, I realized that the kids were not asleep. Below is what I found.
I can think of three things wrong with that picture. First, they are both in the same crib. It has been almost two years since they slept in the same crib. Second, they aren't sleeping. Third, look at how many books and toys are in their crib!
This is where the books came from. These shelves were completely full of books. It is our ghetto DVD holder (which broke) that we are using for a bookshelf until I figure out what to do with the books.Emmy's hair is crazy because she had a pony tail that day and during nap time, aka play time, she took it out.Hyrum did say that he "helped" them. Which I am sure he did since I don't know how they could have made this big of a mess so fast without help. Also, we have been battling with Ben every nap time and bedtime since he has learned to climb out of his crib. In fact one time, I saw him out with a hand full of high heels that he was bringing to Emmy in her crib. I am sure if he could talk well he would say, "She told me too!" If you find him out of his crib, every single time he has brought toys to Emmy. I think he likes to make sure she is taken care of.
Brandon asked me last night why I would take pictures of this since according to him it reinforces the bad behavior. My thoughts on the matter that I can either cry about how frustrating it is with having two who are into EVERYTHING or I can take pictures about the event. I would rather take pictures!

Nap Time Yesterday

That is so funny. And I agree about the whole picture thing. At first I didn't take pictures because I didn't want my son to think that it was okay but do you know how many funny pictures I have missed out on because of it. A lot!!!!!!!!
I would rather take pictures too! :) It's hard to be mad at such cute faces, huh?
Nothing is more frustrating than bad nap time behavior. Elliot is entering that realm. Dottie would purposefully go #2 to get out of her naps. And if I didn't get her, she would paint.
Too funny! Look how happy they are. I can't believe he can CLIMB out of his crib.
That cracks me up! Your kids have so much fun together!
Way frustrating! Kate stopped taking naps awhile ago and can't stay away from me during "quiet time" and there are days where I just want to lock her in a closet with her mouth taped shut.
Your story is really funny, though.
Have you thought about a crib tent? My sister got one for her little boy (who is about our kids' age) and it has worked like a charm.
Bless your heart. You can cry too if you need to now and again! They are precious, but that is hard too, isn't it?
the airplane or a roller coaster ????
