Today was Hyrum's first day of preschool. I guess I should say first day of actual preschool when I haven't been his teacher. He was so excited to go, especially when he heard that a lot of his friends would be in his class.
Last night after his bath, Hyrum picked out the shirt that he wanted to wear to school. This morning the babies slept in. It was perfect for them to sleep in this morning so I could spend some time with Hyrum.
After Breakfast, he got already for school and then we took some pictures. He is so funny when he get his picture taken. He likes getting a picture taken of his head and back. I think it could be because he saw me take pictures of Emmy with her curlers in. Anyways, he also does these funny little poses when he gets his picture taken. He likes to lift up his foot, stick his hand in the air, you name it. Anything to make the picture silly. Also, you could tell he was so excited since he wasn't holding very still for pictures. Hyrum was also excited about his Lighting McQueen backpack.
After we got all the kids loaded up, we went to preschool. A lady in our ward, Miss Tami, is Hyrum's preschool teacher. She teaches the preschool in her home.
I know, I am awful, but I left the twins in the car with the doors locked to take Hyrum in. After she took us on a tour of her room she uses for her preschool, she showed us the table where Hyrum would sit. There Hyrum found a pencil box with his name on it and some crayons and a very cool pencil. There was also a very cute apron for him to wear to keep his clothes clean. You could tell he was ready for me to leave so he could focus on his coloring. He gave me a quick kiss good-bye and went about his work. I thought I would cry today, but in reality I cried the night before. I can't believe how big he is getting.
When I came to pick him up later he didn't want to leave. He was having so much fun. He then went on to tell me all the fun things that they did. He told me how they played with play dough and puppets and a rocket game. He also told me that he was a good boy and made good choices.
Below is a picture of Hyrum's first art project from preschool. Once again, he wanted a picture from behind.
Later that night, during his prayers, he told Heavenly Father that he was grateful that he could go to preschool and listed the things that he did there one by one.
