One of my favorite traditions growing up was receiving a back to school blessing at the beginning of the year. The blessing I was given always gave me a sense of calmness and confidence.
Brandon and I decided that we would continue this tradition with our family. This past Sunday Brandon gave our kids and myself blessings.
It was such a sweet and special experience.
Even though the twins are not old enough to go to school, they still received blessings. For the most part the kids held very still and were quiet.
Hyrum has had a fascination with priesthood blessings since Brandon gave one to Ben the previous week. I found him a few days ago pretending to give Emmy a blessing. Emmy was just smiling in her chair while Hyrum pretended. It was a very cute. I guess during his blessing, he was nodding his head during the whole thing when Brandon would say something.
When it was my turn for a blessing, he asked if he could join to and help daddy. We told him that when he gets older and receives the priesthood he could help.
We are so lucky that Brandon is a worthy priesthood holder and able to give us blessings.
Brandon started school last week, the day after Labor Day. Classes seem to be going well, but stressful.
Today is Hyrum's first day of school. I will post pictures later today.
